Job summary

Cardiff and Vale University Health Board is seeking a conscientious speech and language therapist to join the Flying Start service in Cardiff. You will work within the Cardiff Flying Start Speech and Language Team to support families at universal and targeted levels, focusing on early identification and prevention of speech, language and communication needs.

The role welcomes Welsh or English speakers; Welsh language skills are desirable. UK registration with HCPC and RCSLT is required.

Qualifications

• Experience with preschool caseloads
• Collaborative multi-agency work experience
• Experience delivering training to professionals
• Experience hosting clinical placements for SLT students
• Knowledge of WellComm or similar screening tools

Responsibilities

• Support identified families at universal and targeted levels
• Deliver Flying Start SLT initiatives for 0–4 year olds
• Work as part of the Cardiff Flying Start Speech and Language Team
• Contribute to early identification and prevention of speech, language, and communication needs
