Job summary

The Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust invites applications for a fixed-term Band 7 Senior Speech and Language Therapist leading Early Years pathways within the Integrated Therapy Service. The post coordinates day-to-day delivery, ensures effective use of clinical capacity, and supports virtual advice, early years clinics, family centres and preschools.

Qualifications

• Recognised Speech & Language Therapy Degree Qualification or equivalent.
• Professional registration with HCPC.
• Evidence of post graduate training relevant to role.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day coordination and delivery of designated Early Years Speech and Language Therapy pathways
• Provide leadership, line management, mentorship and supervision to Speech and Language Therapists and assistants
• Support induction, competency, performance, wellbeing and professional development.
• Work with Clinical Leads to embed evidence-based practice and maintain clinical standards across Early Years and statutory pathways.
• Support the Operational Lead with service priorities, pathway development, quality improvement, service redesign and implementation
• Monitor pathway performance, workforce and service data, identifying trends, risks and opportunities for improvement and escalating concerns appropriately.
• Provide specialist Speech and Language Therapy expertise, assessment and consultation to children, families, education settings, professionals and partner agencies.
• Support statutory processes through specialist assessment, advice and reports for EHCPs, mediations, tribunals and complex case discussions.
• Develop effective partnerships with early years settings, schools, local authority colleagues and other agencies.
• Lead and contribute to audit, service evaluation, quality improvement and evidence-based projects to enhance outcomes and service delivery.
• Ensure clinical and operational practice complies with professional standards, organisational policies, governance requirements and relevant legislation.
