Job summary

North Middlesex University Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking an Early Years Speech and Language Therapist to join our friendly team. The role supports children under 5 with various communication difficulties, with options for Band 5 to 6 progression and ongoing professional development.

The post involves delivering 1:1 and group sessions, collaborating with parents and nursery staff, and contributing to service development and audits. Experience with preschool children is desirable.

Qualifications

• Recognised Speech & Language Therapy degree (or working towards).
• Registered with HCPC (or application to do so on qualifying).
• Registered with RCSLT (or application to do so on qualifying).
• Experience of working with early years children who have speech language and communication needs.
• Knowledge of the SEN framework and its relevance to SLT.
• Attendance at relevant post-grad courses (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Manage a defined caseload of early years children with speech, language and communication needs with support from senior colleagues.
• Gaining appropriate consent and performing assessments.
• Plan, deliver and evaluate treatment programmes in collaboration with parents and nursery staff.
• Refer to other services as appropriate and coordinate case management.
• Provide written clinical reports and care plans.
• Demonstrate clinical effectiveness and manage risk within caseload.
• Monitor and reflect on communication to identify strategies to improve outcomes.
