Raiseyork’s York Campus Nursery is seeking an Early Years Practitioner to join the baby room team. You will provide high-quality care and early education, supporting children’s development per EYFS and nursery principles. The role includes line managing Early Years Assistant Practitioners and covering across rooms as needed.

The position is 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 12:00–18:00. £15.14 per hour (£29,209.47 per year, pro-rata). Based at York Campus Nursery, Heslington.

Early Years Practitioner - York Campus Nursery

York Campus Nursery is looking for an Early Years Practitioner to join its baby room team.

You will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care and early education to children, working as part of a supportive team to create a safe and engaging environment where children can learn and grow.

The successful candidate will be based in the baby room but will also provide cover across other nursery rooms as required.

About the Role:

Position: Early Years Practitioner

The role involves supporting children's social, emotional, physical and intellectual development in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and the nursery's core principles of quality and consistency, secure foundations, partnership working, equality of opportunity and anti-discriminatory practice.

Responsibilities:

• Providing high-quality care and early education to children.
• Working as part of a supportive team to create a safe and engaging learning environment.
• Acting as a line manager to Early Years Assistant Practitioners.
• Completing key person observations and assessments.
• Maintaining records and administration systems.
• Providing activities within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
• Providing cover across nursery rooms according to the needs of the nursery.
• A publicly recognised Level 3 qualification in childcare.

Hours: 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 12.00pm to 6.00pm (shifts may vary)

Rate of pay: £15.14 per hour (£29,209.47 per year, reduced pro-rata)
