Job summary

York Campus Nursery at Heslington, operated by York Commercial Limited and affiliated with the University of York, is seeking an Early Years Assistant Practitioner to join the baby room. You will support learning and development for 0–5-year-olds through EYFS activities in a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment.

Hours are 25 per week (08:00 – 13:00, Mon-Fri) at £13.86/hour; essential experience and Level 2+ childcare qualification required.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with the 0-5 age range.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.
• A publicly recognised level 2 or above qualification in childcare.

Join York Campus Nursery, a setting committed to fostering a safe, happy, and multicultural environment for children aged three months to school age. We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Early Years Assistant Practitioner for those wishing to join the team caring for children aged 0-5 years old. This post is to work in the baby room. You will step into a fun, dynamic environment where no two days are the same, allowing you to make a direct and vital impact on children's development.

Role and Responsibilities

The post of Early Years Assistant Practitioner requires relevant experience of working with the 0-5 age range so that you are able to plan and carry out activities to support children's development in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum (EYFS) and as part of a team to uphold the Nursery's core principles: quality and consistency, secure foundations, partnership working, equality of opportunity, and anti-discriminatory practice.

Key responsibilities include:

• Caring for children and as part of a team maintaining a high-quality, stimulating learning environment that offers a wide range of activities in line with EYFS.

Essential Requirements

• Experience of working with the 0-5 age range

• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills.

• A publicly recognised level 2 or above qualification in childcare.
