Job summary

Scottish Borders Council is seeking an Early Learning and Childcare worker to support day-to-day delivery and supervision of children in a term-time setting. You will help plan experiences, set up spaces indoors and outdoors, and contribute to assessments and reports alongside the ELC team.

The role requires relevant qualifications and registration with GTCS, with opportunities for professional development and a permanent, part-time position in a local setting.

Qualifications

• Essential childcare qualifications and registration requirements.
• Registration with GTCS or progression to registration within 3 months.
• Eligibility to work in the UK and perform safeguarding duties.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day delivery and organisation of ELC.
• Supervise children to ensure safety, nurture and support.
• Plan experiences and set up spaces indoors and outdoors for children.
• Observe, record and contribute to assessments and progress reports.
• Liaise with parents and multidisciplinary teams as appropriate.
• Provide guidance to trainees and support college placements.
