Job summary

Highwoods Academy in Doncaster is seeking a Level 3 Early Years Practitioner to support learning and welfare within our EYFS provision. You will work with a friendly team to create a safe, stimulating environment where children can thrive and develop from foundational education to early lifelong skills.

The role requires a full Level 3 EY qualification, previous EY setting experience, and a commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice.

Qualifications

  • Full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification required.
  • Experience of working with children in an Early Years setting preferred.
  • Sound understanding of child development and the EYFS framework.

Responsibilities

  • Support learning, development and welfare of children within EYFS.
  • Create a safe, stimulating and nurturing environment for every child.
  • Work closely with colleagues, parents and carers to support children's development.
  • Uphold safeguarding responsibilities and contribute to an inclusive, high-quality learning culture.

Hours: 30 hours (per week) / option for part time

Start Date: 1st November 2026 / as available

Highwoods Academy are looking to appoint a caring, enthusiastic and highly motivated Level 3 Early Years Practitioner to join our friendly and dedicated Early Years team. The successful candidate will support the learning, development and welfare of children within our Early Years provision, helping to create a safe, stimulating and nurturing environment where every child can thrive. You will work closely with colleagues, parents and carers to support children's development in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about early childhood education and committed to providing high-quality learning experiences for young children.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds a full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification.
  • Has experience of working with children in an Early Years setting.
  • Has a sound understanding of child development and the EYFS framework.
  • Can build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues.
  • Demonstrates high expectations for children's learning, development and wellbeing.
  • Has excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Is committed to inclusion, equality and supporting every child to achieve their potential.
  • Understands their safeguarding responsibilities and is committed to promoting the welfare of children.
