Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting an Early Years Practitioner (Level 2 or 3) to join a selection of welcoming nursery settings in Walthamstow.

Start date: Monday 10th August 2026. Salary: £15-£18 per hour depending on experience. Flexible day-to-day shifts, part-time or full-time opportunities. Pay is through PAYE.

You will support children's learning through play, music and movement, with a caring, energetic approach.

Qualifications

• Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification is essential.
• GCSE English and Maths at grade 4/C (or equivalent) is essential.
• Experience in EYFS or nursery is preferred but not essential.
• Paediatric First Aid and Enhanced DBS are preferred but not essential.

As an Early Years Practitioner (Level 2 and 3), you will support children through engaging activities, sensory experiences, outdoor learning, imaginative play and positive daily routines that promote their development and wellbeing. Working within different settings in Walthamstow will also allow you to strengthen your experience and find the environment where you feel most confident.

To be considered for this Early Years Practitioner (Level 2 and 3) position, you will need:

• A Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Early Years (essential)
• A minimum of GCSE Grade 4/C (or equivalent) in English and Maths (essential)
• A genuine passion for supporting children's learning, wellbeing and development
• Experience or exposure within an EYFS or nursery environment (preferred but not essential)
• A good understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
• A caring, patient, enthusiastic and positive approach
• Paediatric First Aid (preferred but not essential)
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one (preferred but not essential)
