Job description

Supporting nursery staff to enhance early years learning

As an Early Years Practitioner (EYP), you'll interact daily with parents, children, and a variety of professionals such as health visitors and social workers. Immerse yourself in the daily activities by assisting child‑led initiatives, promoting learning through play, and working closely with a dynamic team to guarantee the security and well‑being of each child. As an EYP apprentice, your responsibilities will include participating in observation, assessment, and care duties while collaborating with parents and professionals. You'll play a crucial role in identifying potential hazards to ensure the safety of children.

Duties
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and professionals to meet each child's needs.
  • Use play to support children to understand and encourage healthy life choices.
  • Identify and report safeguarding and child protection concerns.
  • Engage in self‑reflection and professional development.
  • Ensure children's safety, hygiene, and a clean environment.
  • Work with parents to enhance children's outcomes and wellbeing.

  • Communicate effectively, support language and developmental milestones, collaborate with colleagues, professionals, agencies, and parents to meet children's needs, encouraging parent involvement in care and learning.
  • Use feedback and supervision for professional growth.
