Job summary

City of Edinburgh Council is recruiting an Early Years Practitioner for Pennywell Early Learning and Childcare Centre in Edinburgh. The role offers a 36-hour week across 52 weeks with a salary of £30,188–£34,452 per year.

The successful candidate will support children's learning, contribute to high-quality experiences, and work within a team in the new centre. PVG checks and specified qualifications are required for consideration.

Qualifications

• Required qualification for application: SVQ Social Services (Children and Young People) SCQF Level 7 or HNC Childhood Practice.
• Proven commitment to early years learning and development.
• Ability to work as part of a team and maintain professional standards.

Responsibilities

• Support children to be confident and capable learners and participate in meaningful activities.
• Collaborate with colleagues to plan and deliver engaging early years experiences.
• Work shift patterns between 07:45 and 18:00, Monday to Friday, with some late shifts on rotation.
