Job description

Location: Currie Primary School, 59 Curriehill Rd, Edinburgh, EH14 5PU

Early Years Practitioner

Currie Primary School

Salary: £28,046 - £32,010 (pro-rata for sessional)

Hours: 36 per week, 39 weeks

Currie Primary Nursery is located in the South West of Edinburgh within Currie Primary School grounds. It has a designated site and can accommodate 64 children. The nursery features two large open-plan rooms and a spacious outdoor area used daily by children.

We adopt a Play-Based Learning approach, responding to pupil voice through responsive planning to enhance learning and teaching in line with A Curriculum for Excellence. Our goal is to provide high-quality, engaging learning experiences that foster a love of learning.

We encourage children to be individuals aware of themselves and others, developing as global citizens. We promote curiosity and teach adaptable skills for an ever-changing world. Our strong partnerships with parents, carers, partner services, agencies, and the wider community reflect our commitment to our school Mission, Vision, and Values.

This role involves regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The successful candidate will need to join or update their PVG Scheme membership and may require an Overseas Criminal Record Check if applicable. Employment is contingent upon satisfactory completion of these checks.
