Position: Early Years Practitioner
Location: Currie Primary School
Salary: £28,046 - £32,010 (pro-rata for sessional)
Hours: 36 per week, 39 weeks
Situated in the South West of Edinburgh in Currie, the nursery is part of Currie Primary School and has a designated site within the main school grounds. It currently accommodates 64 children.
The nursery features two large open-plan rooms and a spacious outdoor area used daily. We employ a Play-Based Learning approach, responding to pupil voice through responsive planning to enhance learning and teaching aligned with A Curriculum for Excellence. We aim to provide high-quality, engaging learning experiences for all children, fostering a love of learning.
We encourage children to be individuals aware of themselves and others, developing as global citizens. Our focus is on curiosity and teaching skills to adapt to an ever-changing world. We maintain strong partnerships with parents, carers, partner services, agencies, and the wider community, guided by our school Mission, Vision, and Values.
This post involves regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The successful candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo an update check. If you have spent three or more months outside the UK in the last five years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. Employment is contingent upon satisfactory completion of these checks.
