Job summary

Tuebrook Tots Day Nursery in Tuebrook, Liverpool is offering an Early Years Practitioner apprenticeship. You will plan activities for children aged 0-5, help ensure safety and support EYFS delivery, under the guidance of a Room Leader. You’ll join a professional team and gain on-the-job training through Realise.

The programme includes off-the-job learning (20%) within the working day and an opportunity to progress to Level 3 EYPS upon completion.

Qualifications

• Grades 4 or equivalent in Maths and English is desirable but not essential.
• Kindness is valued in the role.
• Considerate, punctual and reliable behaviour is expected.
• Willingness to learn and follow guidance from supervisors.

Tuebrook Tots Day Nursery in Tuebrook, Liverpool has been providing professional quality care and education since it opened in 1990.

As their Early years Apprentice you will be responsible for:

• Planning educational and fun activities for children 0-5 years.
• Ensuring the setting is safe for children, staff and others.
• Supporting the implementation of the EYFS.
• Taking instruction from your Room Leader.
• Ensuring confidentiality is maintained in the nursery.
• Offering all children equal opportunities with regards to their religious beliefs, racial origins, disabilities and cultural background.
• Ensuring that all developmental records and observations are kept up to date.
• Ensuring that the preparation, care and maintenance of the nursery setting and equipment are carried out according to the Nursery’s Policies & Procedures and risk assessments.
• Attending regular staff training and monthly meetings.
• Carrying out duties such as nappy changes, laundry duties and supervision of snacks/meals as directed by the Room Leader.

You will also work as part of a team of professional Early Years staff.

Training to be Provided

Your full role and responsibilities will be set out by your employer. They will provide you with all of the on-the-job training you need to up-skill in your role, and your 20% off-the-job learning will be incorporated as part of your working day.

You will be working towards the Level 2 Early Years Practitioner apprenticeship standard, which includes:

• Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours
• Level 2 Early Years Practitioner Qualification
• Functional skills in Maths and English if required

This will be delivered by your dedicated training provider, Realise.
