Job summary

Pine Trees Nursery in Prestwick is seeking an enthusiastic Early Years Practitioner for the 0-2 years team. The role involves delivering high-quality care and development opportunities for babies, with 25 hours per week from Monday to Friday, 1-6pm.

You will work within a large, supportive team and contribute to nurturing relationships with families. The ideal candidate has experience in early years settings, a strong understanding of child development, and commitment to safeguarding.

Qualifications

• SVQ Social Services (Children and Young People) at SCQF Level 7 or equivalent.
• Experience in an early years setting.
• Strong understanding of child development and nurturing care.
• Excellent communication and teamwork.
• Ability to build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting children's welfare.
• Registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) or eligibility to register.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality care and learning experiences for children aged 0-2 years.
• Support children's emotional wellbeing and development.
• Plan age-appropriate experiences to promote curiosity, exploration and development.
• Observe, assess, and record children's progress in line with nursery procedures.
• Act as a key worker, building attachments with children and families.
• Follow safeguarding and nursery policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with colleagues to deliver high standards of care and education.
• Contribute to nursery improvement and quality assurance initiatives.
