Job summary

Barford St. Peter’s Pre-School in Barford is seeking a kind and reliable Early Years Practitioner to join our team on a permanent basis, working 32 hours per week (8.30am to 3.15pm). You will support play, independence and daily routines in a welcoming, community-focused setting.

You will contribute to a safe, inclusive environment, develop activities, and collaborate with staff, families and children while upholding safeguarding and confidentiality standards.

Qualifications

• Caring, patient approach to working with young children.
• Familiar with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
• Able to support individual needs and encourage positive behaviour.
• Maintain a safe, well-organised environment and use initiative.
• Value safeguarding and confidentiality in daily practice.

Responsibilities

• Prepare engaging activities aligned with EYFS.
• Respond to children’s interests and play needs.
• Support daily routines and transitions (meals, rest, etc.).
• Build warm, professional relationships with children, families and colleagues.
• Promote safe, inclusive play and learning experiences.
