Job summary

City of Edinburgh Council is seeking an Early Years Officer at Sighthill Early Years Centre on a fixed-term contract until 29 October 2027. The post is 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with some early and late shifts on rotation.

Salary is £34,452 to £40,501 per year. PVG Scheme checks are required, and where applicable overseas criminal record checks may be requested. Applicants must have SVQ Social Services (Children and Young People) SCQF Level 7 or HNC Childhood Practice.

Qualifications

• You must have SVQ Social Services (Children and Young People) SCQF Level 7 or HNC Childhood Practice.
• If you do not have either qualification or a minimum of 2 years post-qualifying experience, applications will not be considered.

Responsibilities

• Work shift patterns Monday-Friday with some early/late shifts on rotation.
• Contribute to child-centred pedagogy and partnership with families.
