Job summary

The City of Edinburgh Council is seeking an Early Years Officer for the Sighthill Early Years Centre on a fixed-term contract until 29 October 2027. The role requires experience with families in a strengths-based approach and a commitment to child-centred pedagogy. PVG checks will be completed as part of pre-employment screening.

Shifts Monday to Friday, with some early/late shifts on rotation. Eligibility hinges on having HNC Childhood Practice or at least 2 years post-qualifying experience.

Qualifications

• Must have HNC Childhood Practice or minimum 2 years post-qualifying experience.
• Experience with child-centred pedagogy and family partnership working.

Responsibilities

• Work Monday–Friday with early/late shifts on rotation.
• Deliver high-quality learning and development experiences for children birth to age 3.
• Support wellbeing and safeguarding in line with PVG requirements.
