Job summary

Bright Horizons Shoreham by Sea Day Nursery and Preschool is seeking an Early Years Lunchtime Assistant to join the team. This 20-hour part-time role covers lunch hours Monday to Friday, supporting our children up to age 5 through play, reading and development activities.

You will work with colleagues to create a nurturing, safe environment and build strong partnerships with parents while contributing to our HEART values of Honesty, Excellence, Accountability, Respect and Teamwork.

Qualifications

• Previous experience with children is ideal but not required.
• Ability to engage children during lunch and play.
• Good communication with colleagues and parents.

Responsibilities

Salary – Starting from £12.75 per hour (dependent on qualification/s and experience)

We’re looking for an Early Years Lunchtime Assistant to join our Bright Horizons Shoreham by Sea Day Nursery and Preschool. This is a 20-hour part-time position that covers Monday to Friday during lunch hours.

The Role

As an Early Years Assistant, you will work as part of a team to look after babies and children up to the age of 5. You will have adventures with our children through interactive play, activities, reading, and encouraging their curious minds – supporting colleagues with each child’s development towards their key milestones.

What we’re looking for

• Previous experience working with children ideal but not essential – Nursery Bank Staff, Nursery Assistant, Teaching Assistant, Nursery Practitioner, Early Years Educator, Nanny, Childminder or similar
• Passion for making learning fun and engaging for each child
• Ability to develop trust and strong working partnerships with both colleagues and parents
• Ability to use a variety of communication techniques with both children and adults
