Job summary

Bright Horizons Shoreham by Sea Day Nursery and Preschool is seeking an Early Years Lunchtime Assistant. This 20‑hour, part‑time role covers lunch hours Monday to Friday, supporting babies and children up to five years old through play and learning activities in a warm, supportive team.

You do not need prior experience, though experience with children is welcome. You’ll help build trusting relationships with families while contributing to a safe, stimulating environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children ideal but not essential.
• Ability to develop trust and strong working partnerships with colleagues and parents.
• Ability to use a variety of communication techniques with children and adults.

Responsibilities

• Look after babies and children up to age 5 as part of a busy team.
• Engage in interactive play, reading and activities to support development.
• Assist colleagues during lunchtime and ensure a safe, nurturing environment.
