Job summary

Sunderland College in Sunderland is seeking an experienced Lecturer & Programme Lead - Early Years to join the Bede Campus. The role involves delivering Level 1 NCFE Childcare & Early Years to two classes of around 16 learners.

You will teach 24 hours per week and complete 13 hours of planning, preparation and other duties, with a Monday–Friday pattern. The ideal candidate holds Level 4 qualification or above in Early Years/Childcare, has industry teaching experience, and DBS Update Service.

Qualifications

• Level 4 qualification or above in Early Years/Childcare or related subject.
• Industry experience within Early Years/Childcare.
• Level 5 teaching qualification preferred; Level 2 English and Maths.
• Enhanced DBS certificate with Update Service.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Level 1 NCFE Childcare & Early Years to two classes (~16 learners).
• 24 hours per week of teaching/contact time.
• 13 hours per week for planning, preparation and other duties.
• Monday–Friday working pattern.
• Support learners' development, progress and achievement.
• Plan and deliver engaging lessons suitable to learners' level and needs.
• Collaborate with the wider curriculum team.

The Supply Register is currently recruiting on behalf of Sunderland College for an experienced Lecturer & Programme Lead - Early Years to join their team at the Bede Campus.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Early Years/Childcare professional with teaching experience to work within a Further Education setting, delivering engaging and supportive teaching to learners.

The Role

You will be responsible for delivering Level 1 NCFE Childcare & Early Years, teaching two classes of approximately 16 learners.

The role consists of:

• 13 hours per week of paid planning, preparation and other duties
• Monday-Friday working pattern
• Supporting learners with their development, progress and achievement
• Planning and delivering engaging lessons appropriate to the level and needs of learners
• Working as part of the wider curriculum team

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for candidates who have:

• A Level 4 qualification or above in Early Years, Childcare or a related subject
• Relevant industry experience within Early Years/Childcare
• A Level 5 teaching qualification is preferred
• Level 2 English and Maths
• Previous teaching, training or lecturing experience
• The ability to engage and motivate learners and create a positive learning environment
• Enhanced DBS Certificate registered to the Update Service
