Job summary

hireful is recruiting a part-time Early Years Lecturer to join a college in Surrey. You'll teach learners from Level 2 to Level 5 and help them build the skills, confidence and professional behaviours they need for careers in childcare and early education.

The role is 18.5 hours per week, on-site Monday to Wednesday, at a Surrey campus with good transport links. Generous holiday entitlement, a pension, free on-site parking and opportunities for professional development are offered.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in early years or childcare with professional experience.
• Level 5 teaching qualification or working towards one.
• Experience teaching or training in Early Years, ideally FE.
• GCSE English and maths (or equivalent) at Level 2.
• Desirable TAQA/A1 assessor award or willingness to gain one.

Responsibilities

• Teach and assess Early Years programmes from Level 2 to Level 5 and provide progress feedback.
• Design engaging course materials and schemes of work aligned to local employer needs.
• Deliver tutorials, set SMART targets and monitor attendance and progress.
• Build links with local early years employers for work placements.
• Participate in open evenings, student interviews and moderation.

We're recruiting a part-time Early Years Lecturer to join a college in Surrey. You'll join a supportive and friendly Education and Early Years team, teaching learners from Level 2 to Level 5 and helping them build the skills, confidence and professional behaviours they need for careers in childcare and early education.

A salary of up to £39,700 FTE (actual up to £20,700) depending on qualifications and experience is available , alongside an attractive benefits package, generous holiday entitlement and pension.

The role is part time, 18.5 hours per week, on-site Monday to Wednesday , based at a campus location within Surrey with good transport links from surrounding areas. Easily accessible from Woking, Ashford, Weybridge, Guildford, Walton-on-Thames, Esher, Epsom, Staines-upon-Thames and the wider Surrey area.

What you'll be doing

• Teach and assess Early Years programmes from Level 2 to Level 5, giving feedback that helps every learner progress
• Design engaging course materials and schemes of work, and help shape a curriculum that meets local employer needs
• Deliver tutorials, set SMART targets and track attendance, progress and achievement, stepping in early when someone needs support
• Build links with local early years employers to find and monitor work placements
• Get involved in open evenings, student interviews, parents' evenings and internal and external moderation

What you need to bring

• A degree, HND/HNC or equivalent professional qualification, plus practical experience in early years or childcare settings (essential)
• A Level 5 teaching qualification (Cert Ed, PGCE or DTLLS), or willingness to work towards one
• Proven experience teaching or training in Early Years, ideally within FE
• GCSE or Level 2 English and maths, and confidence using Microsoft Office to produce materials and keep records
• Experience delivering T Levels or NCFE CACHE qualifications, and an assessor award (TAQA/A1) or willingness to gain one is desirable
