Job summary

Southend-on-Sea City Council is recruiting a Best Start Inclusion Practitioner to join the Best Start Family Hubs on a full-time, fixed-term contract until 30 March 2029. You will work with families, early years providers, health professionals and the Early Years SEND Team to promote inclusive practice and timely support for children with emerging needs.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of child development, EYFS and SEND Code of Practice.
• Ability to identify and support children with emerging needs and work with families.
• Experience coaching or advising practitioners and maintaining records.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver targeted groups and interventions for families.
• Provide practical advice to parents and carers to support development.
• Build trusted relationships with families and multi-agency partners.
• Support transitions into early years settings and primary school.
