Job summary

Bright Horizons Early Education & Preschool in Cambridge is seeking an Early Years Housekeeper to maintain a clean and safe environment for children, families and staff. You will uphold high hygiene standards across bathrooms and nappies, perform daily laundry and support additional nursery tasks where needed.

The role requires experience in cleaning, Food Safety Level 2 or above, COSHH/Health & Safety knowledge, and excellent communication with children and parents.

• Experience in cleaning within a domestic or commercial setting.
• Food Safety Level 2 or above required on day 1 in post.
• Sound knowledge of COSHH and Health and Safety requirements.
• Great communication with colleagues, children and parents.

Responsibilities

• Keep the nursery clean and a safe environment for children, staff and families.
• Maintain high hygiene standards in bathrooms and nappies areas; manage daily laundry.
• Assist with additional nursery tasks, including supporting mealtimes and cleaning equipment.

The Role

As an Early Years Housekeeper, you will keep the nursery a clean and safe environment for the children, colleagues, and families. You will maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene of the children’s bathroom and nappy change areas throughout the day, carry out daily laundry as required, and be prepared to help with additional nursery tasks where required, such as supporting over mealtimes and cleaning of equipment.

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience of cleaning within a domestic or commercial property
• Food Safety CIEH L2 or above (or equivalent) – this must be passed on day 1 in post
• Sound knowledge of COSHH and Health and Safety requirements
• Great communication skills, with colleagues, children, and parents
