Job summary

Renfrewshire Council is recruiting an enthusiastic early years graduate to join the central early years team and support local authority and funded provider settings to implement a quality curriculum for high-quality early learning experiences.

The role involves curriculum development, pedagogy support, and using data to guide targeted work while staying up to date with early years initiatives. PVG scheme membership may be required.

Qualifications

• You should have experience of early years provision, curriculum delivery, planning assessment and self-evaluation.
• You must also have understanding and knowledge of early childhood development, Curriculum for Excellence, Realising the Ambition and GIRFEC and an ability to lead on the dissemination of this knowledge to staff.
• It is also essential that you possess communication, organisational and report-writing skills.
• If successful, you will be required to become a PVG Scheme Member.

Responsibilities

Required Qualifications & Skills

You should have experience of early years provision, curriculum delivery, planning assessment and self-evaluation. You must also have understanding and knowledge of early childhood development, Curriculum for Excellence, Realising the Ambition and GIRFEC and an ability to lead on the dissemination of this knowledge to staff.

You must have a BA Childhood Practice or primary teaching qualification and an HNC/SVQ3 or other equivalent early years qualification (SCQF level 7) and must be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council or GTC. We can also accept applications from candidates in their final year who have recently qualified in the relevant qualification and are waiting to receive their certificate of graduation.

It is also essential that you possess communication, organisational and report-writing skills.

If successful, you will be required to become a PVG Scheme Member.
