Job summary

Bury Council is advertising two full-time Early Years Support Worker roles on a 2.5 year fixed-term basis within the Early Years Team. You will provide practical and emotional support to children and families, plan programmes, and promote parental participation in sessions to aid development.

Role involves working with Early Years settings, multi-agency teams and other professionals to ensure timely support, develop universal services, and contribute to assessments across Bury’s five

Qualifications

• Level 3 or above qualification in Early Years Childcare and Education or similar relevant area.
• Experience of working with families aged 0-5.
• Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage and current legislation.
• Experience of working with parent/carers.
• Experience of multi-agency working.
• Knowledge of the story so far or equivalent assessment tool.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical and emotional support to children and their families.
• Plan and implement programmes of agreed work with children and families.
• Promote parents’ participation in sessions and their child’s development.
• Work closely with Early Years settings, Children’s Centres and other professionals.
• Provide emotional support, advice and signposting to parents, carers and families.
• Support parents and carers in all aspects of their child development.
• Contribute to assessments and work with other agencies to enable positive changes.
• Develop links with universal services and work with agencies to provide intervention.
• Provide the right support at the right time for children and their families.
• Plan, develop and implement universal services.
