Job summary

The Sheffield College is currently seeking an Employability Skills & Placement Officer within our Early Years and Childcare division. The role focuses on securing high quality student placements, supporting learners and coordinating work experience across sites.

This temporary sickness cover role ends 22 February 2027. You will engage with learners, employers and assess units while visiting workplaces to provide on-site training and support.

Qualifications

• Assessor qualification would be advantageous.
• Experience coordinating work placements and liaising with employers.

Responsibilities

• Ensure learners gain high quality placements and work experience.
• Interact with learners to identify challenges and find solutions for placements.
• Manage a caseload of vacancies and candidates, shortlist applications, liaise with employers for interviews.
• Visit students in the workplace to provide training, support and assessment for units.
