Job summary

Kido Reading Nursery & Preschool is hiring an Early Years Educator to join our new launch nursery in Reading. The role offers a salary of £27,500–£30,000 per year and a full-time, 40-hour week schedule.

You will embody our values and help create a warm, engaging environment for young children. We’re seeking candidates with Level 2 or Level 3 childcare qualifications, English Level 2 deemed essential, and a passion for supporting early development.

Qualifications

• For the EYE role, Level 2 or Level 3 minimum childcare qualification is required.
• Level 2 English qualifications with functional skills are required if Level 3 obtained after 2014.
• No sponsorship available at this time.

Responsibilities

• Create a nurturing environment — support a safe, engaging space for children.
• Be a consistent key person — provide comfort, stability, and strong relationships.
• Observe and plan learning — record observations and plan next steps.
• Use varied teaching strategies — adapt approaches to different learning styles.
• Create enabling environments — set up spaces that spark curiosity and exploration.
• Support SEND needs — work with families and professionals for tailored support.
• Safeguard children effectively — follow safeguarding procedures and report concerns.
• Carry out safety checks — contribute to daily health and safety routines and risk assessments.
