Job summary

Good Shepherd Catholic Primary School in London is offering an Early Years Educator Apprenticeship. You will work 32.5 hours per week, Mon-Fri, 8:30am-3:30pm, for 18 months and train toward a Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification.

The role supports 3-5-year-olds in the EYFS, with online training and a dedicated tutor. Location: Shepherds Bush, W12 9BY; salary £8.00/hour with a potential pay rise after 12 months for those aged 19+.

Responsibilities

  • Support children aged 3 to 5 in their learning, development and well-being within the EYFS
  • Help create a safe, stimulating, inclusive and nurturing learning environment
  • Assist in planning and delivering engaging activities that support children's development across all areas of learning
  • Encourage children's communication, language, social and emotional development through meaningful interactions and play-based learning
  • Observe, assess and record children's progress under the guidance of experienced practitioners and teachers
  • Support children in developing independence, confidence, resilience and positive behaviour
  • Build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues
  • Assist in preparing learning resources and maintaining an organized learning environment
  • Support children with additional needs to ensure they are fully included in all activities
  • Uphold safeguarding, health and safety policies and procedures at all times
  • Contribute to the school's Catholic ethos and values through kindness, respect and inclusion
  • Take part in training, mentoring and professional development opportunities throughout the apprenticeship

Our Early Years Educator Apprenticeship offers a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in a primary school setting while working towards a nationally recognised qualification.

Good Shepherd Catholic Primary School is a one-form-entry Outstanding Catholic primary school in the heart of West London, serving children from Nursery through to Year 6. Apprenticeship Overview:
  • Salary: £8.00 per hour, automatic pay increase after one year on programme for 19+ year olds
  • Working Week: Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm (45 minute lunch break)
  • Hours: 32.5 hours per week
  • Duration: 18 months

As an Early Years Educator Apprentice, you will:

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
  • The successful candidate will obtain a Level 3 Early Years Educator Apprenticeship Standard qualification.
  • Each apprentice will have their own dedicated tutor who will conduct monthly remote tutorials and reviews, providing continuous support throughout the apprenticeship programme. Depending on the apprentice's needs, the frequency of these sessions may vary.
