Job summary

MiChild Group's Sunbeams Nursery in Atherton is seeking an Early Years Educator qualified to Level 2 or Level 3 (UK) with a solid understanding of EYFS. The role is 3 days a week, either Monday to Wednesday or Wednesday to Friday, based at 23 Bolton Old Road, Atherton, within a welcoming, Ofsted-rated setting that cares for up to 68 children.

Salary £12.80–£13.25 per hour, plus benefits including up to 80% childcare discount from day one, wellbeing support, staff recognition and annual awards,

Qualifications

• Qualified practitioner with Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years UK-based qualification.
• Commitment to EYFS best practice and safeguarding.
• Ability to prioritise safeguarding of all children, staff and families.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality care and education to children in the setting.
• Support daily routines and developmentally appropriate learning activities.
• Collaborate with the team and communicate with parents.
• Adhere to safeguarding policies and Ofsted-aligned practices.

About MiChild at Sunbeams Nursery

Sunbeams Nursery is a warm and welcoming nursery in Atherton. We are proud to be rated “Good” by Ofsted and care for up to 68 children as part of the MiChild family.

Our nursery has been newly refurbished within the last year. We have three bright play spaces for children aged 0–2, 2–3 and 3–4 years. We also have a sensory exploration room where children can explore, relax and learn in a calm environment.

We have two lovely outdoor garden areas at the back of the nursery. One garden opens directly from the baby room. Our outdoor spaces are used daily for activities such as outdoor yoga, games and imaginative play.

At Sunbeams, we value teamwork and reflective practice. We support each other to learn, grow and develop our skills. As part of MiChild, staff wellbeing and appreciation are important to us, and we enjoy recognising and celebrating our team.

We are conveniently located on Bolton Old Road, just a five-minute walk from the local high street with shops and places to eat. Atherton train station is a ten-minute walk away, and there are several local bus routes nearby, making it easy to travel to work by public transport.

What we are looking for:

• A qualified practitioner with a Level 2 Early Years or Level 3 Early Years UK based qualification
• Commitment to providing the highest level of care and education to all children and promoting EYFS best practice
• Ability to prioritise the safeguarding of all children, staff and families that have access to the setting
• A solid understanding of the EYFS and child development
• Excellent communicator who easily engages with children, parents and the setting team

Please note this is 3 days a week with an option of working either Monday to Wednesday OR Wednesday to Friday
