Job summary

East Renfrewshire Council is looking for a Part Time Child Development Officer to support children aged 0-5 and their families at McCready Family Centre. The post involves 14 hours per week (Thursday and Friday) with various 8:00–18:00 shift options. This permanent role sits in the Education department and requires relevant Childcare qualifications.

Salary is pro rata (£12,803 - £13,759) based on a £17.54-£18.85 hourly rate. Closing date is 15 November 2026; interview date 01 December 2026.

Qualifications

• HNC Childhood Practice at SCQF Level 7 is required.
• SVQ Social Services (Children and Young People) at SCQF Level 7 (or equivalent recognised by SSSC).
• Experience working with children with additional support needs is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Work with the management team to provide a service appropriate to the needs of children aged 0-5 years and their families.
• Adhere to safeguarding and registration requirements (SSSC) and right-to-work checks as part of the recruitment process.
