Job summary

Milk Education is seeking an Early Years Assistant for a welcoming Hartlepool primary school, starting September 2026. You will assist with day-to-day activities in Nursery/Reception, helping create a safe, stimulating environment and supporting children through play, small-group work, and individual support.

Ideal candidates are caring, enthusiastic, and committed to early years development, with strong communication and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Caring, enthusiastic and committed to supporting young children’s learning.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Genuine passion for Early Years education.
• Willing to develop professionally in a supportive school environment.
• Childcare or Early Years qualifications/experience (desirable)

Responsibilities

• Support the Nursery and/or Reception Teacher with day-to-day classroom activities and observations.
• Help create a safe, engaging, and stimulating learning environment where every child can thrive.
• Support children’s learning through play-based activities, small group interventions, and one-to-one support.
• Assist with daily routines, including personal care where required.
• Work closely with teaching staff to provide the highest standard of care and education for all pupils.
