Job summary

The City of Edinburgh Council is seeking an Early Years Assistant for Gylemuir Primary School. You will support children's learning and wellbeing through high-quality play, help create an inclusive learning environment, and work across 36 hours per week over 52 weeks per year.

The role requires a warm, child-centred approach, good communication with children, families and colleagues, and a commitment to equality and safeguarding. PVG checks and SVQ2/SSSC registration are required.

Qualifications

• Experience in early years settings preferred.
• Ability to communicate with children, families and colleagues.

• Support children’s learning, development and wellbeing through high-quality play experiences.
• Help create an inclusive, welcoming, and engaging learning environment.
• Support children to develop their confidence, independence and social skills.
• Build positive and nurturing relationships with children.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues.
• Help prepare and maintain stimulating indoor and outdoor learning environments.
• Support children with their individual needs and promote inclusion for all.
• Contribute to observations and discussions about children’s learning and development.
• Follow the school’s safeguarding, health, safety and wellbeing policies.
