Job summary

Newdigate Primary School & Nursery is seeking a warm, enthusiastic Early Years Educator to join the EYFS team from 1 September. The role involves supporting teaching and care across the school nursery and early years, in a vibrant, play-based environment.

The successful candidate will be energetic, reliable and capable of building strong relationships with children, families and staff. This is a term-time role with inset days, 39 weeks per year.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Childcare or relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification (meets Government EY qualification checker).
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
• Ability to support pupils with a range of needs.
• Understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities.

• Support teaching and learning across the EYFS and nursery.

Newdigate Primary School and Nursery, Level 3 Early Years Educator, Band D, Monday - Friday 08:30-15.30 (32.5 hours per week, term time only plus inset days, 39 weeks).

We are seeking to appoint a warm, enthusiastic and well‑organised Early Years Educator to join our Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) from 1 September. The successful applicant will work across our early years phase including our school nursery.

Person Specification

Essential

• Level 3 Childcare or relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification that meets the requirements of the Government’s Early Years qualification checker.

• A positive, proactive and caring attitude
• Basic literacy and numeracy skills
• Ability to support pupils with a range of needs
• Understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities

Desirable

• Previous experience working in an early years or school setting
• Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) or primary curriculum
• Experience supporting children with additional needs
