We are looking for a full-time, passionate Nursery Assistant to join our Bright Horizons St. Mary’s Day Nursery and Preschool, situated close to the centre of Abingdon, with great transport links.

The stunning 114-place setting features well-resourced rooms with free flow access to their amazing garden area, and also benefits from a forest school area, perfect for outdoor teaching and learning! The nursery is Ofsted rated 'Good'.

What you’ll be doing

  • Working as part of a nursery team caring for babies and children up to age 5
  • Engaging in daily activities, play, reading, and supporting children’s curiosity through the curriculum
  • Communicating daily with parents about their child's activities
  • Providing a caring, safe, and supportive environment
  • Supporting colleagues in children’s developmental milestones
  • Promoting child welfare, protection, health, safety, and safeguarding

What we’re looking for

  • Previous experience working with children is ideal but not essential—roles include Nursery Bank Staff, Nursery Assistant, Teaching Assistant, Nursery Practitioner, Early Years Educator, Nanny, Childminder, or similar.
  • Passion for making learning fun and engaging
  • Ability to build trust and strong relationships with colleagues and parents
  • Effective communication skills with children and adults
  • Understanding of child protection and safeguarding policies
