Job summary

UCM Education in the United Kingdom is seeking an enthusiastic Early Years Assistant to join a nurturing setting, working primarily with children aged 1–2 years. You will support care, learning and development in a warm, safe environment.

This permanent, term-time role runs Monday–Thursday, 8:00am–4:00pm. Level 3 qualified candidates can be considered; you should be patient, reliable and have strong communication and teamwork skills to support children's early development.

Job description

We are recruiting for a caring and enthusiastic Early Years Assistant to join a welcoming Early Years setting, working primarily with children aged 1–2 years.

You will be:

• Supporting the care, learning and development of children aged 1–2 years
• Helping to create a warm, safe and nurturing environment
• Supporting engaging and age-appropriate activities in line with the EYFS
• Encouraging children's early communication, independence and social development
• Supporting children's individual routines and needs throughout the day
• Building positive and trusting relationships with children and their families
• Supporting observations and monitoring children's progress
• Maintaining high standards of safeguarding, health and safety and professional practice
• Working collaboratively with colleagues to provide consistent, high-quality Early Years provision
• Contributing positively to the day-to-day running of the setting

The successful candidate will have experience or a genuine interest in working within Early Years, particularly with younger children. Level 3 qualified candidates can also be considered. You will be patient, nurturing and reliable, with strong communication and teamwork skills and a genuine passion for supporting children's early development.

Salary: £19,360 per annum

Contract: Permanent, term-time only

Working days: Monday–Thursday

Hours: 8:00am–4:00pm

Age group: Primarily 1–2 years
