Job summary

Living Heritage Nursery invites applicants for an Early Years Apprentice position in Southampton. You will be trained on the job, shadow a buddy, and work toward becoming a key person. Training days with the provider Realise and on-site practice will shape your day-to-day role.

The apprenticeship includes 28 days of annual leave pro-rated, paid lunch hour, free uniform, and extra leave after each year. Safeguarding checks and DBS are part of the process.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English.
• Calm, approachable by nature and able to use initiative.
• Ability to follow nursery policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist team members in delivering high standards of care and education for children and effectively manage daily nursery operations.
• Contribute ideas to planning to ensure children receive high-quality learning and development.
• Liaise with nursery staff regarding children’s specific needs and requirements.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and healthy environment.
• Adhere to all Nursery policies and health and safety requirements.
• Work closely with your buddy to support inclusion and develop good practice.
