What you'll be doing

An early years apprentice at Storal will receive on-the-job training to help you build a career working with young children, typically from birth to five years old. You will gain hands-on experience while studying towards a qualification. Your daily tasks will include:

• Assisting with activities that support learning and development, following health and safety procedures, and helping with the physical care of children (feeding, napping, hygiene).
• Observing and supporting children’s social, emotional, and physical development under the guidance of experienced staff.
• Working under the supervision of qualified early years staff who will mentor, give feedback, and guide you to learn best practices.
• Learning about child protection protocols, reporting procedures, and maintaining a safe, hygienic environment.
• Understanding regulations specific to childcare, such as the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) in England.
• Developing skills to communicate effectively with young children, their families, and colleagues.

What you'll need

• The right attitude and abilities
• Experience as an Early Years Educator or having worked with children under 5 is advantageous
• Knowledge of the EYFS is desirable
