Job summary

School House Day Care is seeking an Early Years Apprentice to learn on the job, support young children, and work towards a Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification in a friendly, supportive team.

The apprenticeship runs Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm, and there are 3 positions available. Training is provided by BEST PRACTICE NETWORK LIMITED and there is potential progression to a permanent Early Years Educator role.

Qualifications

• On-the-job training toward Level 3 Early Years Educator.
• Willingness to work within a team and follow safeguarding policies.
• Commitment to safeguarding and health and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe, happy, and stimulating environment for children.
• Support children's learning, play and development through activities.
• Assist with creative activities, stories, songs and outdoor play.
• Build positive relationships with children and carers.
• Assist with mealtimes, personal care and hygiene.
• Set up/clear away activities and keep the nursery clean.
• Observe children and record progress and development.
• Work with the nursery team and follow practitioners' guidance.
• Communicate positively with children, parents, and colleagues; follow nursery policies.
• Participate in training and work toward Level 3 Apprenticeship.
• Learn to support each child as an individual to reach their full potential.

Introduction

Join us at School House Day Care as an Early Years Apprentice. You’ll learn on the job, gain hands‑on experience caring for and supporting young children, and work towards your Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification — all while being part of a friendly, supportive team.

What You'll Do

• Helping to provide a safe, happy and stimulating environment for children
• Supporting children with their learning, play and development through fun activities
• Helping with creative activities, stories, songs, games and outdoor play
• Building positive and caring relationships with children
• Supporting children with mealtimes, personal care and hygiene
• Helping to set up and tidy away activities and keep the nursery environment clean and organised
• Observing children and helping to record their progress and development
• Working as part of the nursery team and following guidance from experienced practitioners
• Communicating positively with children, parents and colleagues.
  Following nursery policies and procedures, including safeguarding and health and safety
• Taking part in training and completing work towards the Level Early Years Educator apprenticeship
• Learning how to support each child as an individual and help them reach their full potential

Training Outcome

On successful completion of the Level 3 Early Years Educator Apprenticeship, there is the opportunity to progress into a permanent Early Years Educator role at School House Day Care. You will continue to develop your skills and experience within our supportive team, with opportunities to take on additional responsibilities and progress your career in Early Years.
