Job summary

Penge East Nursery in Sydenham, part of Grandir UK, is looking for a caring and enthusiastic Apprentice to join our team. You will play a key role in caring for, supporting and inspiring our children, encouraging curiosity and helping them thrive every day.

The training salary is £8.00–£9.00 per hour, with 33 days annual leave including bank holidays, a pension scheme, sick pay from day one, and wellbeing benefits.

Qualifications

• Support and inspire children while they learn and play.
• Follow safeguarding procedures at all times.
• Be committed to professional development toward an Early Years qualification.
• DBS check will be carried out by a third-party provider.

Responsibilities

• Ensure children’s individual needs are identified and met.
• Supervise and support the children at all times.
• Carry out interactive tasks such as reading stories, helping at mealtimes, playing games, and changing nappies.
• Act as a positive, practical role model for the children.
• Develop friendly, professional relationships with staff and parents.
• Work toward gaining your Early Years qualification in a supportive environment.

What You Will Be Doing

• Ensure that the children’s individual needs are identified and met
• Supervise and support the children at all times
• Carry out a wide range of interactive tasks including reading stories, helping at mealtimes, playing games, and changing nappies
• Act as a positive, practical role model for the children
• Develop friendly, professional relationships with staff members and parents
• Ensure you fully understand and follow Safeguarding Procedures
• Work towards gaining your Early Years qualification in a supportive and professional environment with hands-on experience
