Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking a dedicated Early Years Teacher to support children across EYFS and Reception in Wakefield. The role can be day-to-day or long-term with an immediate start, delivering engaging lessons and supporting phonics and guided reading.

Ideal candidates will hold a PGCE with QTS and have experience in UK primary EYFS settings, with strong classroom management and a patient, enthusiastic approach to early childhood development. On-site work with flexible arrangements.

Job description

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a number of mainstream primary schools based in and around the Wakefield area, who are looking to appoint a dedicated Early Years Teacher to support children across Early Years / EYFS and Reception. The schools provide a mainstream learning environment where children with a range of abilities and additional learning needs are supported to develop their confidence, independence and early learning skills.

The schools are looking to take on an enthusiastic Early Years Teacher for day-to-day or long-term work, with an immediate start available. The successful Early Years Teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging, age-appropriate lessons, supporting phonics and guided reading development, planning activities in line with the EYFS framework and adapting learning to meet SEND needs.

The successful Early Years Teacher will have:

A PGCE with Qualified Teacher Status / QTS

Experience teaching within Early Years / EYFS and Reception in a UK primary school

Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework, phonics and guided reading

Experience adapting teaching and learning to support children with SEND

Excellent classroom management and communication skills

A positive, patient and enthusiastic approach to supporting early childhood development
