Job summary

Derbyshire County Council is seeking a dedicated Best Start Inclusion Practitioner to join the Best Start Family Hubs across Derbyshire. You will identify emerging needs, offer hands-on support, and empower families with children aged 0-5 to access the right services at the right time.

• Knowledge and experience of SEND and inclusion, child development, and identifying additional needs.
• Experience supporting families in community/early years settings.
• Strong communication and relationship-building with families.

Responsibilities

• Identify emerging needs early through observations and engagement with families.
• Help families navigate local services, including inclusion pathways and financial support.
• Collaborate with health services, early years providers, SEND teams and partners for joined-up support.
• Provide drop-ins, short-term workshops, and family sessions across Family Hubs and community networks.
