Job summary

North Yorkshire Council is seeking a part-time Caretaker in Harrogate (Belmont House, Starbeck area) to ensure security, routine maintenance and cleaning support. The role runs early mornings (6.00am–7.00am) for five hours weekly, with flexibility in start/finish times.

Salary ranges from £13.28 to £13.92 per hour, with no weekend work. The position includes access to the Local Government Pension Scheme and holiday entitlement, plus various employee benefits.

Qualifications

• Must be reliable and have a strong work ethic.
• Ability to perform security and light maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

• Locking and security of the building; respond to emergency call outs.
• Keep outside areas safe and clean; support building maintenance by checking light fittings.
• Assist with minor repairs and replace consumables.
• Support training and development of cleaners on site; assist with cleaning duties.
