Yorkshire Causeway Schools Trust is seeking practical, reliable Caretakers to help keep St Peter's CE Primary School, Harrogate, safe, welcoming and well-presented.

This role offers full-time, part-time or flexible hours with training provided; duties include opening/closing buildings, basic repairs, decorating, room setup, health and safety checks, deliveries, and assisting contractors, with mileage reimbursed between sites.

Qualifications

• Enjoys practical, hands-on work.
• Can carry out basic DIY and maintenance tasks.
• Reliable, organised and takes pride in their work.
• Works independently and uses initiative.
• Positive and flexible approach.
• Communicates well with colleagues and contractors.
• Committed to maintaining safe environments for children and young people.
• Previous caretaker or facilities experience welcome but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Opening and closing school buildings.
• Carrying out basic repairs and maintenance.
• Painting and decorating tasks.
• Setting up rooms and moving equipment.
• Supporting health and safety checks.
• Receiving deliveries and assisting contractors.
• General site upkeep and presentation.
• Supporting grounds and outdoor areas.
• Overseeing maintenance work during school holidays.
