The post covers Caerphilly and may involve cross-Gwent travel, with majority borough-based duties to limit travel.

The role focuses on high-quality care coordination and case management for young people (14-35) with first-episode psychosis, including psychosocial and vocational support and family work.

An exciting opportunity has arisen in ABUHB’s Early Intervention in Psychosis Service.

We are able to offer a secondment for 9 months working 22.5 hours Band 6 EIS Specialist CPN.

The Early Intervention Service is a pan Gwent MDT that is in partnership with Adferiad Recovery. We are based in Risca. This post will hold a caseload covering the areas of Caerphilly, however may involve working across Gwent, however to limit travel we try to ensure the specialist workers are borough based for the majority of their role.

The Early Intervention Service provides an extensive care coordination and case management service to young people (14-35) experiencing a first episode of psychosis, focusing on psychosocial, vocational and family interventions.

The Early Intervention Service is a specialised Mental Health Service providing individual tailored evidence based intervention to young people in the early stages of their first episode of psychosis.

Early identification and treatment of symptoms is seen as crucial to longer term outcome. By adopting the principle of assertive outreach, the team aims to engage young people early using low stigma community based approach. Assistance will be offered with psychological adjustment and recovery, prevention of relapse, vocational/employment opportunities and interpersonal and social development.

This post is a fixed term/ secondment for 9 months starting 01/11/2026 due to maternity cover. If you are interested in applying for the secondment position, you must obtain permission from your current line manager prior to applying for this post.

Main duties of the job

By adopting the principle of assertive outreach, the team aims to engage young people early using low stigma community based approach. Assistance will be offered with psychological adjustment and recovery, prevention of relapse, vocational/employment opportunities and interpersonal and social development.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
