Job summary

Greater Manchester Mental Health Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 6 social worker / CPN to join the Central Early Intervention In Psychosis Team for a fixed-term maternity cover. You will work with individuals aged 14–65 with First Episode Psychosis, delivering evidence-based recovery interventions to reduce relapse and promote personal recovery.

Under supervision, you will manage a varied caseload, participate in triage and duty duties, and coordinate timely assessments in the community

Qualifications

  • Core professional qualification (nursing, social work or occupational therapy)
  • Evidence of continued professional development
  • Post-registration clinical experience for nurse registrants
  • Experience in a multidisciplinary team
  • Knowledge of Care Programme Approach and Mental Health Act 1983
  • Knowledge of risk management practices
  • Knowledge of Adult Safeguarding Procedures
  • Experience with social and health care needs of adults with mental illness (organic/functional)
  • Ability to conduct biopsychosocial first line assessments
  • Experience with children/adolescents with mental illness
  • Experience with psychosis
  • Knowledge of Mental Capacity Act

Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 social worker / CPN to join our dynamic and supportive Central Early Intervention In Psychosis Team for a fixed term to cover maternity leave . This is the perfect opportunity to broaden your skill set in the area of Psychosis and relapse recovery . We work with individuals between the age of 14-65 years with a First Episode Psychosis to provide the vital early intervention which truly changes lives ., We require a highly motivated and committed individual with a genuine passion for providing evidence based recovery interventions to people experiencing a first episode Psychosis. The Post Holder will aim to reduce the impact of psychosis and ensure that the individual remains actively involved in life with a focus on living an ordinary life and to achieve personal recovery. You will manage a varied caseload providing evidence based assessments and interventions , working closely with Psychology. You will particiapte on a duty rota in assessing for suitability into the service and supporting your colleagues on Triage and Duty ., Under line management and clinical supervision from within the Early Intervention Team, the post holder will maintain and co-ordinate timely and appropriate interventions and assessment for a caseload of service users living in the community within the framework of CPA and in line with the relevant clinical pathways i.e.) as outlined within the EIT operational procedure. This includes respecting individuality, values, culture and religious diversity of clients and colleagues and thus contributing to the provision of a service sensitive to these needs.

  • Core professional Qualification i.e nursing, social work, occupational therapy
  • Evidence of continued professional development
  • nurse registrants : completion of preceptorship, The Post Holder should have post registration clinical experience.
  • Experience of working within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Full understanding of The Care Programme Approach and Mental Health Act 1983, including the needs and rights of carers.
  • Good knowledge and application of risk management
  • Good knowledge and application of Adult Safeguarding Procedures
  • Proven knowledge of looking after social and health care needs of adults suffering organic and functional mental illness., Ability to conduct first line assessments for individuals newly referred into the service, utilising a biopsychosocial framework
  • Experience of working with children and adolescents with a mental illness
  • Experience of working with individuals with Psychosis
  • knowledge and application of The Mental Capacity Act
