The Early Careers Specialist will manage and enhance all graduate, intern, apprenticeship, and work experience programmes to align with the organisation's strategic goals, address skills shortages, and promote diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I). This role involves designing, implementing, and evaluating these programmes, developing recruitment strategies to attract diverse high-potential candidates, and partnering with educational institutions to build a strong talent pipeline.

The specialist will maximise the use of the apprenticeship levy, integrate apprenticeships into workforce planning, and champion DE&I initiatives. Additionally, they will ensure a seamless candidate experience from application to onboarding, collaborate with stakeholders to align programme objectives with business needs, and track and report key metrics to inform decision-making and demonstrate programme impact to senior leadership.

Programme Management

Leverage your experience in designing, implementing, and managing early careers programmes, ensuring they align with organisational goals and using data-driven evaluation methods to continuously improve their effectiveness.

Talent Acquisition

Utilise your expertise in creating and executing recruitment strategies, partnering with educational institutions, and coordinating career fairs and outreach activities to attract high-potential candidates from diverse backgrounds.

Apprenticeship Management

Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and manage apprenticeship programmes, maximise levy utilisation, and promote diversity. Monitor learner progression, programme completion rates, diversity metrics, and engagement levels. Manage suppliers and deliver engaging activities. Achieve key performance indicators such as stakeholder satisfaction and impact measurement, including improvements in skills gaps and alignment with organisational objectives.

DE&I Initiatives

Demonstrate your commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion by implementing inclusive hiring practices and promoting a culture of inclusion through collaboration with internal stakeholders.

Candidate Experience

Ensure a seamless candidate experience by drawing on your experience in developing training programmes and providing support and guidance to early careers participants from application to onboarding.

Stakeholder Collaboration

Use your strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with hiring managers, HR, and external partners, ensuring alignment with programme objectives and broader talent development initiatives.

Reporting and Analysis

Track and report key metrics, analyse data to identify trends and measure success, and prepare comprehensive reports for senior leadership, showcasing your ability to inform decision-making and demonstrate programme impact.

About You
  • Previous experience in early careers programme management, talent acquisition, or a related role.

  • Strong understanding of DE&I principles and best practices.

  • Experience managing apprenticeship programmes and utilising apprenticeship levy funds.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems.

  • Passion for developing and nurturing early career talent.
