ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY
Our client is seeking a motivated and passionate Early Career Teacher of Sociology to join their thriving Social Sciences department at a mixed all-through academy in Ilford. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Your key duties will include:

  • Planning and delivering high-quality Sociology lessons, primarily at KS5 (A-Level), with opportunities for involvement in KS4 enrichment
  • Promoting a learning environment that fosters curiosity, debate, and critical analysis
  • Assessing student work and progress effectively, and using data to inform future planning
  • Participating fully in the school's ECT programme, including training and professional development
  • Supporting students' academic progress and pastoral wellbeing
  • Contributing to the development of curriculum and resources in the Social Sciences department
  • Collaborating with colleagues and engaging positively with parents and carers

  • Hold or be on track to achieve QTS by September 2025
  • Hold a relevant degree in Sociology or a closely related field
  • Have excellent subject knowledge and a passion for teaching Sociology
