Job summary

Randstad Education is recruiting Secondary Early Career Teachers (ECT) to support local secondary schools across Chester and surrounding areas. We offer flexible day-to-day cover and long-term placements, letting you gain classroom experience without the pressures of planning and marking.

You’ll deliver pre-planned lessons, manage classrooms effectively, and receive ongoing support, weekly pay, and access to CPD as you grow your teaching career in a flexible environment.

Qualifications

• QTS or UK teaching qualification (PGCE, BEd, or equivalent)
• Strong classroom management and adaptable attitude
• Right to work in the UK and safeguarding requirements

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, pre-planned lessons across secondary subjects and year groups.
• Create a positive, supportive, and productive classroom environment.
• Apply effective behaviour management techniques in line with school policies.
• Provide feedback to the regular teacher at the end of the day and support colleagues.

What You'll Be Doing (Responsibilities)

• Delivering engaging, pre-planned lessons across various Secondary subjects and year groups.

• Creating a positive, supportive, and productive classroom environment.

• Applying effective behaviour management techniques in line with school policies.

• Supporting department colleagues and leaving helpful feedback for the regular teacher at the end of the day.

What We Need From You (Requirements)

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised UK teaching qualification (PGCE, BEd).

• Strong classroom management skills and a passionate, adaptable attitude.

• An Enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for a new one with our help).

• The right to work in the UK.
