Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Graduate Bridge Structures Engineer in Glasgow for a 2027 start. You will join the Bridges and Structures team, delivering design and assessment on UK and international projects with hybrid working options.

Ideal candidates hold a BEng/MEng in Civil or Structural Engineering, are aiming for chartership, and can demonstrate strong analytical and communication skills. Training and mentorship are provided through our GDP, with exposure to diverse projects.

Qualifications

• BEng in Civil or Structural Engineering with a 2:1 classification (or equivalent).
• MEng or MSc in Civil or Structural Engineering would be an advantage.
• Structural modules or Structural/Bridge Engineering experience would be an advantage.
• Good technical understanding of Civil & Structural Engineering.
• Willing and able to work towards chartership with ICE or IStructE.
• Good communication ability with clients and colleagues, both verbal and written.
• Enthusiastic, hard-working with ambition and drive.
• Ability to structure and prioritise work effectively in team and independently.

Responsibilities

• Structural Design for bridges and related structures.
• Bridge Assessment and inspections.
• Finite Element analysis applications.
• Structure renewal feasibility studies.
• On-site works supervision and scheme management.
• Contribute to design from inception to completion with a focus on delivery.
