Job summary

Kempston Academy in Bedford is seeking an EAL Coordinator to target and support identified students, helping them overcome barriers to learning. The role involves direct EAL support, working with the senior leadership team, teachers and support staff to share language profiles and education history with relevant staff.

The successful candidate will provide and coordinate language support specific to the secondary curriculum at Key Stage 3 and 4, especially in English, Maths and Science.

Hours of Work:

37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (Term time only + training days)

Salary:

Level 6 Point 21- 25 £ 29,759 - £32,650 per annum

We are looking to appoint a passionate and skilled EAL Coordinator who is able to target and support identified students to help them overcome barriers to learning both within and outside school or college.

The role will involve leading on the direct support for EAL students, working in partnership with the senior leadership team, teachers and support staff to investigate and share language profiles and education history with relevant staff.

The successful candidate will provide and co-ordinate language support specific to the needs of the secondary curriculum at Key Stage 3 and 4, especially in English, Maths and Science.
